Recap of last weekend! Yes we did get ramen at Shin-Sen-Gumi! We never try to miss out on their anniversary $3 ramen sale! As much as I wanted to, I did not become a glutton this time and opted to get my regular bowl of ramen along with three refills. Jess only got one refill but a couple of other add-ins like spicy miso and bamboo shoots. Here’s a shot of my ramen when it came out (no refills yet).
If I had to live off one food source for the rest of my life, it would have to be soup noodles. Beef and Chicken pho, different types of ramen, Chinese and Taiwanese beef noodle soup are just a few to name off the bat!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to hang out with my Big who is finally back from Hong Kong nor my Twin, who I haven’t seen in about a couple of years. No worries, we’ll hang out soon! Especially since Big is back and Twin is graduating this year. My how time flies!
Oh, after two weeks of research, we finally went to Microcenter to take advantage of their sales on computer components to build Mr. De La Cruz his ultimate gaming computer. Built it later that night at Oceanside; after six hours of unwrapping, screwing, plugging, praying and installing, it was complete! Here are his specs:
- Corsair Graphite Series 600T CC600TM Mid-Tower Gaming Case
- Gigabyte GA-Z77xUD5h LGA 1155 Intel Z77 ATX Motherboard
- Intel Core i5 3570k Ivy Bridge 3.4 GHZ LGA 1155 Processor
- Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO Heatsink
- Corsair CS750M 750W ATX12Vv2.3 SLI Ready Crossfire 80+ Bronze Certified Modular Active Power Supply
- Samsung E 128GB SSD Pro-840 SATA3
- 16GB (8×2) DDR3 1600 Ballistix DIMM Memory Module
- Samsung 24x DVD-RW SATA Bare Drive
- Windows 7 Professional SP1 64-bit
- MSI GTX670OC 2GB PCIE3 Graphic Card
Pretty dang good specs if I do say so myself. All in all, came out to about $1400 in parts before rebates. The case was amazing due to the space in the front for air flow and the back panel for cable management; much better than Jess’s Coolermaster Storm Scout. I think when it’s my turn to build, hopefully next year, I’m going to go with a Corsair case. Right now, I have my eyes on the 500R white edition but we’ll see!
And of course, no weekend is complete without spending some time with our baby, Kari! She actually turned one years old this week (Feb 21)!! Unfortunately, with Jess’s changing work schedule, we didn’t get to celebrate till tonight. Pics will be uploaded later but for now, here is Kari after we gave her a bath (pat on my back for coming out alive and with all ten fingers) and also laundered her bed and towels. She seems so smug and happy to have everything clean. A happy Shiba is a happy girlfriend is a happy man!
